Nelson Duffie Interests has a proven track record functioning as a turnkey developer of multi-tenant and freestanding industrial facilities. The firm is also active in the acquisition of existing improved properties. Our collective experience gives us a great advantage in the marketplace by being able to offer site selection, land acquisition, project design, project financing, construction, utility coordination, marketing, management and much more. We have strong ties and strategic relationships with the brokerage community, lenders, contractors, engineers and architects as well as corporations and individuals in the community. What does all this add up to? That’s right – Intellectual Capital. It’s hard to put in words all that we have gained in our collective 50 years in the Houston real estate market, but all that knowledge, experience, insight and creativity is passed directly on to our clients. You might not really experience it until you work with us, but we offer a value that is simply unmatched in the industry. It goes beyond the standard of outstanding service – it’s about providing invaluable advice to our clients, putting the client’s interest above our own, exhibiting the highest integrity, and having the client seek and value our input and development talents. It’s the unique kind of capital that can only be acquired through experience. Although Nelson Duffie Interests was founded in March 2004, its roots date back to the early 1980s. Richard Nelson’s career began with the Trammell Crow Company and later he worked for Levering & Co., Senterra and Betz Realty Investors where he served as President with responsibilities for acquisitions, development and management of commercial income properties. Under his leadership, Betz acquired or developed more than one million SF of commercial properties. John Duffie began his career with the famed Horne Company Realtors, one of Houston’s premier brokerage firms at the time. From there he worked in various capacities with Cushman & Wakefield, Rubloff and Trione & Gordon. Over the past six years, John served the Midway Companies as Executive Vice President with responsibilities for acquisitions, development opportunities, leasing of company-owned properties, sales of land in business parks, raising equity for projects and business development. In this capacity, Midway’s acquisitions totaled more than 900,000 SF and development activity was more than 1,500,000 SF. It is our hope and aspiration that Nelson Duffie will become the firm of choice for individuals, companies, and real estate professionals in need of commercial real estate expertise in the Southwest. The cornerstone of our firm has always been, and will remain, our unquestionable experience, unparalleled knowledge, impeccable integrity and of course our ‘Intellectual Capital.’
